Go wandering in Wanaka

Despite the miserable weather we set off on the hour long walk around Lake Matheson, which on a clear day gets the nickname ‘mirror lake’ for its incredible reflections of Mt Cook and Mt Tasman, however instead we saw plenty of rain!

After thawing out our cold, soaking wet clothes on the bus, our second stop was Thunder Creek waterfall, which was a fun stop with plenty of photo opportunities.

Lake Wanaka was our third stop where FINALLY the sun poked it’s head out from the clouds and we got to see this beautiful view…

Although Wanaka is a small town, I can see why so many people visit this beautiful area! It’s busy, yet quiet…

After cooking dinner, we went a local bar for a few ciders before bed…
