Another killer 7:30am start to get the ferry over from the North to the South Island ($55 dollars), while you don’t get much of a view from the ferry, it does give you a chance to check in with home (write these blogs!) as they have limited free wifi! (They also have plenty of cafes and even come round with a hot scone trolley, so you won’t go hungry!)

Once on the South Island, we arrived at Kaiteriteri (also known as Abel Tasman) where our lodge (Kaiteri Lodge) was located next to a beautiful beach.

After dropping our stuff off in our room we went for a long beach walk and had an early night (I had a pretty bad cold that night so while some had a few drinks in the bar next door I went straight to sleep)
